Billboard Lullabye

Lucy likes it when I sing her to sleep.  Too bad I don’t really know any lullabies.  I know the mockingbird song, with half of the verses made up, and it gets monotonous to me.  I have also tried Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear, but that’s about one verse.  Repeated.  Finally, I thought of the only song that I really know all the words to, and started singing it in a soft lullaby voice, slowly and dragging out each word.  Not bad.  I like it myself, meaning, I don’t mind hearing myself sing it.  It’s an old classic camp song, thank you Camp Conestoga!

The Billboard Song

As I was walking down the street one dark and dreary day
I came upon a billboard and much to my dismay
The sign was torn and tattered from the storm the night before
The wind and rain had done it’s work and this is what I saw:

Smoooooke Coca-Cola cigarettes, chew Wrigley’s Spearmint beer,

Soooooo take your next vacation in a brand new Frigidaire
Learn to play the piano in your winter underwear
Doctors say that babies should smoke until they’re three (or four or five)
And people over 65 should bathe in Lipton Tea (or soup or Jelloooooo).
